No-overtaking

These (mainly) Spanish no-overtaking signs (on the left) and their corresponding cancelling of no-overtaking (on the right) are arranged in approximately chronological order. Not every combination has yet been photographed.

The designs represented range from bulbous shapes redolent of the late forties and early fifties to more sharp edged designs from the eighties. With the exception of "IX", which resembles a modern 4x4 vehicle, more recent car shapes are not yet visible on Spanish road signs.

Note that in Spain traffic drives on the right, so the red car is shown on the left of the sign.

Lorry signs are also shown. One of them has the indicator light on. The others are not even trying to overtake.

Chunkier than Spanish cars. The gunshot in the overtaking car seems larger than normal.

At last, after a few years, another design of Spanish no-overtaking roadsign. Although the cars look very weird, more like golf buggies. In fact, the sign is next to the golf course at Alcaidesa.
